The SKIF CUC is a complex of 34 buildings and structures, as well as engineering and process equipment, ensuring the implementation of scientific research on synchrotron radiation beams. JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 is the general contractor for the facility.
In June, the company's specialists completed the excavation of the pit under the buildings of the accelerator-storage complex. The volume of works amounted to about 96 thousand cubic meters. Over 51 thousand rolling piles were installed and about 80 thousand cubic meters of soil-cement mixture were laid.
Works have been completed on the construction of the frames of most buildings and structures: the canteen, the electrical building, CUC, AT, the cylinder warehouse, the garage, the administrative and household part.
For the injector building, the construction of reinforced concrete structures has been completed, and at two experimental stations, the installation of load-bearing and enclosing structures has been completed. Currently, works are underway to erect reinforced concrete walls and floors of the storage building, and the installation of on-site utility networks continues.
A new stage of works has recently begun at the site – a special geodetic network has begun to be installed.
Vyacheslav Maksimov, Director of the in-house forces of the SKIF CUC Program (main buildings) of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2:
“A large volume of works is planned for the summer season. Currently, specialists are installing and testing the reference geodetic network, which will allow for high-precision installation of girders* with equipment in the future. JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 has fully prepared the facility for this area. The work is being carried out jointly with employees of scientific organizations. This will form the basis for installing unique physical equipment, as well as for monitoring during the operation of the complex. Its difference from construction geodetic networks is that it is needed for the use of high-precision coordinate measuring machines, laser trackers and geodetic marks for the reflector, ensuring the installation of equipment relative to the network marks with an error of up to 0.15 mm”.
At the end of June, the first batch of equipment of the Institute of Nuclear Physics named after G.I. Budker SB RAS was already accepted in the bench testing building. Test assembly of the accelerator complex equipment has begun at SKIF. In total, 44 booster synchrotron girders will be assembled in the injector building, which will form a ring with a perimeter of 158 meters. The total mass of the equipment is more than 40 tons.
