The facility shall be used during the hot run of the Power Unit 1 equipment prior to the first criticality.

This Boiler house provides the NPP with steam load during start-up, repair, commissioning, and in the event of emergency shutdowns.

As a member of the Committee on Ecology and Environment Protection, he pays great attention to the activities of large industrial enterprises. He came to Sosnovy Bor to get acquainted with the project of new power units of the Leningrad nuclear power plant and to ensure personally their safety has been properly provided.

The chief engineer of the plant under construction, Alexander Belyaev, briefed the guest about the features of the project, according to which the new units are being built.

Thanks to advanced scientific developments the impact on the environment during the operation of the plant will be minimal. In addition to the achievements of Russian science, products of domestic companies, from equipment to software, are used during the construction of the power units.

At the construction site of the Leningrad NPP Sergey Boyarskiy paid a visit to the evaporative cooling towers that are included in the water circulation system at the station. This cycle will be closed, and therefore the use of water will be economical.
