This operation was an important step in preparing for the installation of the reactor vessel. The work was completed three days ahead of schedule. The installed structure will ensure reliable securing of the reactor and its protection against various types of loads during operation.
Next, the builders of TITAN-2 Holding will fill the internal cavities of the annular metal structure with special-purpose serpentinite concrete. This material will provide reliable radiation and thermal protection of the reactor cavity.

“It is important not only to fill the truss with concrete, but also to ensure its proper curing for it to gain the required strength. After solidification of the mix, we will confirm its quality by non-destructive testing methods. We will also check the position of the support truss before and after concreting. Elevations, alignment of the truss with the cavity and position along the main axes must remain as they were. This will allow the truss to operate normally under enormous loads (temperature, radiation and weight). We plan to complete all work on the support truss in July.”
During preparation for installing the reactor vessel, TITAN-2 specialists will have to perform in the near future a number of construction and installation works: concreting the floor slab for the reactor coolant pumps that will pump the primary coolant, arranging the central elevation of the reactor building, mounting the double containment to the required elevations.
