For several days, a commission consisting of representatives of Rosenergoatom Concern headquarters and experts in the field of occupational health and safety from the Rostov, Smolensk, Kursk, Beloyarsk and Novovoronezh NPPs worked at the construction site of the Leningrad NPP-2 to give an independent assessment of the construction safety.
The audit was aimed at compliance assessment of working conditions with the established standards and requirements. During the audit, the commission inspected the facilities under construction, visited construction base No. 3 and amenity camps, and also monitored the implementation of safety briefings for participants of the construction effort. In addition, they took part in the extended field staff meeting on safety of work.

The Commission praised the developed network of safe pedestrian footpaths that completely exclude intersection with vehicles, as well as commissioning of state-of-the-art construction base No. 3, where there are comfortable conditions for personnel: showers, changing rooms, lavatories. Since last year, a number of new practices have been introduced, including modern water machines with a purification system connected to a central water supply system. Wheels of vehicles and roads are washed daily; siren lights are installed on special-purpose vehicles. In addition, we are constantly enhancing visual campaigning by placing information stands and materials on occupational health and safety in crowded places.”
