During the first stage of work, 50 people, 30 units of automotive equipment and 15 special mechanisms were involved. Now some of them are in the construction of the “turbine island” pit.

After completing all the work on the pit of the “nuclear island”, the Titan workers, in accordance with the schedule, began constructing reservoir and ring drainage.

“At the moment, at the site we see the prepared foundation of the “nuclear island” pit. We are starting to install reservoir and ring drains. This year there are plans to complete all work on the concrete base and begin preparations for concreting the foundation of the third power unit of LNPP-2, which will take place in March 2024. On August 30 of this year, in accordance with the schedule, we began constructing the foundation pit for the “turbine island” and are preparing to complete it in November. After which the holding’s specialists will begin developing the “nuclear island” pit for the fourth power unit,” noted Konstantin Khudyakov, director of the LNPP facilities program at CONCERN TITAN-2 JSC.

At the construction site of the new units, 15 lighting masts were installed, this allows builders to carry out work in two shifts - day and night. Currently, 20 people and 40 pieces of equipment are involved in the pit.

“We produce 6-8 thousand cubic meters of soil per shift every day. In the pit of the “nuclear island” we continue to refine the slopes, leveling and drainage. We are installing reinforced concrete trays along the bottom of the pit and reservoir drainage. In addition, we produce roads, driveways and descents for the pit and pump out water with 22 kW pumps on an ongoing basis. We dump all the water into drainage ditches, which then go to treatment facilities,” commented Mukhtar Ramazanov, head of the SMU-1 section of SUS PJSC.

CONCERN TITAN-2 is the general contractor for the construction of new units at LNPP-2. The vertical levelling and construction of an interception ditch for surface water are now being completed at the construction site. The arrangement of areas for the passage of vehicles and personnel, the installation of temporary outdoor lighting and temporary fencing of the construction site continues. Work continues in accordance with the planned schedule.
