With the help of hoisting equipment, they are installing the columns, crossbars and beams weighing three to twelve tonnes.

As of now, 4 out of 272 columns are to be installed. Each of them was delivered to the site disassembled and further set into one 12-meter long column.

Upon assembly of the reinforced concrete structures, the specialists will commence hydraulic tests of the cooling tower pond basin. For that, the pond will be filled in with water from -2.350 up to 0.000 elevation. Then the specialists will proceed with assembly and installation of the spraying system consisting of metal-reinforced plastic pipes.

This is the third cooling tower for the SMU-2 fifth brigade. They have already built two towers at Rostov Nuclear Power plant, as well as participated in water cooling system installation for the currently operating first LNPP-2 unit.
