This was the last major equipment lifting process at this facility.
Transport lock is a kind of steel doors to the reactor compartment. It is installed between outer and inner reactor containment. The lock weighs 270 tons and is 7 meters in diameter.
The load was installed to its intended position at the +26.000 elevation using Liebherr LR11350 crane. The installation required extra precision, as the gap between the lock and the trestle was no more than 3 centimetres from each side.
After that, the specialists had to install the transport lock into its design position and energize it. The lock will be used to deliver fuel to the reactor and move equipment for scheduled maintenance.
