The specialistы of the Second Unit of JSC “MSU-90” installed thrust truss in the reactor building of the second Power Unit of the LNPP under construction.
The metalwork weighing 27.5 tons was installed over reactor shaft at level +15,000. The operation was fulfilled with the use of “Liebherr” crawler crane with a loading capacity over one thousand tons.
The installation of the equipment was preceded by great preliminary work. The thrust truss was delivered to the site of the Leningrad NPP as different parts. The workers of the First Unit of JSC “MSU-90” overturned it, executed pre-assembly and welding of the equipment. The workers of the Third Unit assembled the installation metalwork for the thrust truss.
It took several hours to install the equipment in the final design position, since the accuracy of installation is one millimeter. The specialists of “MSU-90” successfully fulfilled the task and at present have completed the operations with the thrust truss.
Now the specialists of OJSC “SUS” began to work with the equipment. They erect concrete form for the reactor shaft. On completing this construction work the support ring and pressure vessel will be put to the reactor shaft.
