The Finland-based company Fennovoima Oy has recently sent its instructors to visit the Training Center of the Leningrad NPP, to learn about the training procedure in place for the operations personnel working at their new VVER-1200 reactors.
Finnish experts were told about training of operations personnel at the LNPP, how much theoretical and practical information the training encompassed, about the facilities and resources utilized by the Russian side. Fennovoima may employ some of these practices and staff training methods at the Hanhikivi plant in Finland.
Hanhikivi 1 NPP will be based on the same design as the new units in place at the LNPP. Titan-2 is the general contractor for the construction of the Leningrad NPP-2 power units and Hanhikivi 1 NPP.
Experts also visited the full-scale training simulator for operations personnel, which is exact copy of the real power unit and is designed to train and maintain the qualification of the operational personnel of the power plant.
