Today 10.11.2016 the decree of the State Council of Finland on a ban of flights over the construction site in the Hanhikivi Peninsula entered into force. The ban on flights over the Hanhikivi Peninsula is necessary for protection of the project from illegal actions and to avoid the consequences of possible plane crashes or emergencies.
The ban extends to the airspace over the fenced construction site territory and the surrounding plots of land and water area. The boundaries of the area prohibited for flights are indicated in the Annex of the decision of the State Council.
However, the flights associated with maintenance of NPP "Hanhikivi-1" will be allowed.
