A field staff meeting was held at the construction site of Smolensk NPP-2 with the participation of the customer Rosenergoatom JSC and the general contractor JSC CONCERN TITAN-2, where the strategy for supplying equipment for new nuclear facilities was discussed.

The key topic of the meeting was the principles of the contract strategy, which determines the mechanisms and timing of providing the construction site with equipment. This work is carried out in conjunction with a large-scale program for the construction of new nuclear facilities in Russia.
Within the framework of the meeting, package suppliers of long lead equipment (LLE) from the industry were identified. First of all, this is Rosatom Mashinostroenie LLC, which specializes in the manufacture and supply of high-tech equipment for nuclear and turbine islands for NPPs.
The general contractor of the construction — JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 is authorized to purchase the entire range of equipment for the Smolensk NPP-2.

Artem Lebedev, Director for Equipment Supplies for Russian Nuclear Projects, JSC CONCERN TITAN-2:
“In 2026, JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 plans to ensure contracting the priority long-lead equipment (LLE), the production cycle of which can reach 36 months. We are talking about the equipment of a nuclear steam supply system, core catcher, air-tight personnel airlocks and other items. In addition, it is necessary to purchase equipment for combined installation: floor water drains and pipelines of active sewage, sensors of the containment monitoring system, pipeline leak-tight penetrations, embedded pipes for cable penetrations, volumetric equipment. Their delivery is expected begin as early as 2027. Later, competitive procurement procedures will be carried out with the involvement of manufacturers.”

Currently, construction of facilities necessary for the transition to the main construction period in March 2027 is underway at the construction base. The foundations of concrete batching facilities have already been concreted: workshop for the production of fiber formwork, warehouse for inert materials, laboratory and amenity building. Installation of foundations and metal structures of the reinforcement facilities is underway.

Among the priorities is the development of on-site infrastructure: roads, fencing, lighting and fire fighting water supply. In early autumn, it is planned to supply part of the equipment for the 110/10 kV transformer substation, including switchgears, communication and automation systems.

Information note from TITAN-2 Holding

TITAN-2 Holding (part of ROSATOM State Corporation) is one of the key participants in large-scale nuclear industry projects in Russia and abroad.

The Holding companies perform a full cycle of work: design, construction organization, construction, electric installation, commissioning of facilities.

Today, TITAN-2 is the general contractor of the construction of new power units of the Leningrad, Kola and Smolensk NPPs, participates in implementation of the PDEC “Breakthrough” project in Seversk, as well as in the largest international nuclear projects – Akkuyu NPP in Türkiye, Paks II NPP in Hungary and El-Dabaa NPP in Egypt.

New power units of the Leningrad NPP and the Kursk NPP-2, the Core Shared Research Facility Siberian Circular Photon Source (SKIF) in Novosibirsk, as well as the facilities of Innopolis in Tatarstan are among the projects completed by the Holding. The competencies of TITAN-2 are also in demand in construction of large industrial, research, social and infrastructural facilities.
