The Core Shared Research Facility Siberian Circular Photon Source (CSRF SKIF) has officially received the conclusion of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor) on compliance with all design parameters and requirements.
This was declared by the Minister of Education and Science of Russia, Valery Falkov, at the plenary session of the XIV All-Russian congress of councils of young scientists and student scientific societies.
“On July 9, Rostekhnadzor issued a conclusion on compliance. Now we can say with confidence that the CSRF SKIF is completed,” the Minister emphasized.
The general contractor for the construction of a unique scientific complex is JSC CONCERN TITAN-2. The key subdivisions of the Holding were simultaneously involved in the effort: JSC MSU-90, PJSC “NBD” and JSC SEM.
The facility is being built in the researcher town of Koltsovo, the Novosibirsk Region. It includes 34 buildings and structures with a total area of almost 87 thousand square meters on a land plot of 30 hectares, equipped with advanced engineering and process equipment.
CSRF SKIF will be the world’s first source of synchrotron radiation of generation 4+. This will allow to obtain new fundamental knowledge in medicine, biology and other fields of science.
The first experiments are scheduled for autumn 2026.
