Specialists of TITAN-2 Holding poured 578 m³ of heavy concrete. 36 spring vibration isolating elements were installed in the foundation structure, which will reduce the vibration load on the foundation columns and equipment.

Within two weeks, the concrete will gain design strength, after which the installers will proceed to installing supporting embedded plates for the turbine and generator, followed by pouring with non-shrinking mortar. The final stage of concreting will take place in a month.

Already in autumn, the builders will begin installing the main power equipment – turbine and 300 MW generator.

Construction of the reactor island continues at the same time. At the end of 2025, specialists of TITAN-2 Holding completed installing the enclosure of the central cavity of the reactor plant, where the core will be located, as well as the enclosures of the peripheral cavity for steam generators and lead coolant circulation pumps.

Soon the space between the cavities will be filled with special heat-resistant concrete, which will ensure the structural strength of the boundary of the primary coolant circuit and ensure reliable protection of the power unit.

Anton Korepanov, Head of Department for Heat Installation of “Breakthrough” Separate Subdivision, JSC CONCERN TITAN-2:
“Continuous concreting lasted 17 hours, during which 578 m3 of heavy concrete was poured. In total, more than 60 people were involved in various stages of the work.”
The complexity of the foundation construction was in the layout solutions used: the steam condenser had to be installed before the start of reinforcing and concreting of the turbine generator set foundation, since after construction of the foundation, its installation would become impossible. To install formwork above the already installed equipment, a special sub-formwork system weighing 70 tons was designed. The foundation erection was started after the vibration dampers were accurately placed in the design position and the system was assembled.
Special attention had to be paid to how load lifting operations were arranged. Since the circuit of the turbine hall was closed in October 2025, the only available load lifting mechanism was the crane of the turbine hall, the main purpose of which is the installation of the turbine generator stator. Specialists of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 installed the mechanical and electrical parts of the crane.”

Information note from TITAN-2 Holding

TITAN-2 Holding (part of ROSATOM State Corporation) is one of the key participants in large-scale nuclear industry projects in Russia and abroad.

The Holding companies perform a full cycle of work: design, construction organization, construction, electric installation, commissioning of facilities.

Today, TITAN-2 is the general contractor of the construction of new power units of the Leningrad, Kola and Smolensk NPPs, participates in implementation of the PDEC “Breakthrough” project in Seversk, as well as in the largest international nuclear projects – Akkuyu NPP in Türkiye, Paks II NPP in Hungary and El-Dabaa NPP in Egypt.

New power units of the Leningrad NPP and the Kursk NPP-2, the Core Shared Research Facility Siberian Circular Photon Source (SKIF) in Novosibirsk, as well as the facilities of Innopolis in Tatarstan are among the projects completed by the Holding. The competencies of TITAN-2 are also in demand in construction of large industrial, research, social and infrastructural facilities.
