From May 1, power unit 1 of the Kursk NPP-2 will regularly supply electricity to the Unified energy system of Russia.
The new 3+ generation power unit with a VVER-TOI reactor plant meets the most advanced safety and energy efficiency requirements. It will reliably provide energy to consumers in Central Russia.
Specialists of TITAN-2 Holding participated in implementation of this large-scale project. Today, together with the general contractor ASE JSC, they continue construction of key facilities of power unit 2: the turbine building, the evaporative cooling tower and the training center.
Alexey Likhachev, General Director of ROSATOM State Corporation, noted:
“After receiving a conclusion on compliance with the design from Rostekhnadzor, we have signed all the documents necessary in the industry and today we say: the 3+ generation power unit with a VVER-TOI reactor plant has been successfully commissioned. This is not only a technological success and a labor feat of a large team of builders and power engineers, but also a real embodiment of the connection between generations through the continuity of experience and innovation. Over the entire period of construction, more than 90 thousand people and about 250 contractors and subcontractors took part in the project – from the design and supply to the setup and commissioning.”
