This event became one of the key events in early 2026.
The metal consumption of the structure is over 1,200 tons, which is almost 180 railcars. The volume of concrete is 4,176 m3, which is equivalent to one and a half Olympic swimming pools.
Vladimir Klepikovskii, Director of Branch of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 in Cairo: “The active start of construction work in early 2026 confirms that the El Dabaa NPP Project, which is the flagship project for the Russian-Egyptian cooperation, is steadily moving forward. Every day we take a step towards constructing the first nuclear power plant in Egypt.”
The fresh nuclear fuel storage building is one of the key nuclear infrastructure facilities of a power unit. It is intended for receiving, temporary storing and preparing fuel for subsequent loading into the reactor. Specialists of TITAN-2 Holding have successfully completed the preparatory work and started installation of the reinforcement cage.
Ramil Kaniyazov, Director for Nuclear Island 3 Construction, JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 in Cairo: “We managed to optimize the process of inspections during installation of the foundation slab. Due to close and productive cooperation with the representatives of the Owner and the general contractor, the amount of reinforcement inspections was reduced from seven to two. This will significantly affect both the duration of construction and installation works and the execution of as-built documentation.”
Soon the company’s specialists will begin installing embedded parts, arranging a closed grounding loop and erecting formwork. The final stage will be the concreting of the foundation slab.
