Specialists of TITAN-2 Holding won first place in the competition of Rosatom’s Fuel Division in the nomination “The best RPS-project aimed at reducing facility construction time”. The award was given for an innovative solution in the construction of a unique BREST-OD-300 reactor plant.

The developed technology allowed reducing the construction time of the facility by 43% and reduce labor costs by 65%. The total economic effect exceeded 98 million RUB.

The project, presented by the crew of the Directorate for the BREST Facility Construction of PJSC SUS, headed by representatives of the customer – Siberian Chemical Plant JSC, and the general contractor – JSC CONCERN TITAN-2, won the first place at the end of 2025, confirming the high level of technical expertise and the ability to implement innovations during construction of a fundamentally new nuclear facility in Russia.

The key achievement was the reduction of the concreting stages from 12 to 7 due to optimized work sequence and implementing an improved technology for feeding B2 class heavy concrete. The developed solutions made it possible not only to maintain the quality of structures, but also to significantly reduce the duration of works, material and labor costs.

Alexandr Kuchma, Deputy Chief Engineer of PJSC SUS:
“This is the first facility of a kind in the country, and our specialists have become the pioneers of new construction approaches. The team of the BREST Facility Construction Directorate has proved that even in case of high technical complexity and absence of ready-made equivalents, it is possible to find effective, economically substantiated solutions.”

Within the framework of the project, 7 improvement proposals have been developed and implemented, including new concrete mix placing methods and auxiliary structures for equipment installation. All solutions have been integrated into the main scope of the design documentation (CWEP).

Viktor Ratnovengineer of PJSC SUS, expert and person in charge of the development of the Rosatom Production System, supervisor of implementation of key RPS-projects in the division, noted:
“The main unique feature of our solution is in synchronization and restructure of the sequence of process operations. We didn’t just speed up the process – we maintained all the requirements for quality and safety. This is the result of joint work of the customer and contractor team, including managers, chief engineers, pre-production specialists and process engineers. We are proud that we are able to prove the effectiveness of our solutions at such a unique facility as BREST-OD-300, which has no equivalents in Russia.”

The main concreting volumes at the Breakthrough Project site were successfully completed in July 2025. Thanks to the implemented innovations, the duration of crucial works on arranging the intermediate shell of the reactor compartment and erecting the annular gap of the reactor vessel was reduced by 222 days.

The proposed process solutions are considered as promising for use at future facilities with a similar configuration.
