The solemn ceremony of pouring the "first batch of concrete " was held in the presence of the management of the Rosatom State Corporation, the TITAN-2 Holding, the Leningrad NPP and JSC ASE. Our colleagues from the Belarusian NPP, El-Dabaa NPP (Egypt) and Ruppur NPP (Bangladesh) joined the ceremony via videoconference. Nuclear scientists from partner countries congratulated the Holding on this milestone and wished it further success in the Leningrad NPP new power units construction.

With a symbolic push of a button, Andrey Petrov, First Deputy Director General for Atomic Energy and President of JSC ASE, Grigory Naginsky, CEO of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2, and Vladimir Pereguda, Director of the Leningrad NPP, launched a new stage of the Leningrad NPP construction.

"Today we have not just launched the construction of the Leningrad NPP new power unit. We have taken another step towards fulfilling the great state task of increasing the share of peaceful nuclear energy in the country's energy mix. In this regard, Rosatom faces enormous challenges. This year, we are beginning to work on the construction of replacement facilities at the Smolensk and Kola nuclear power plants, and completing engineering surveys for the fourth-generation power unit at the Beloyarsk NPP in the Sverdlovsk region. In the next two decades, we are going to deploy new sites in Siberia, the Urals, and the Far East. Thanks to the new nuclear projects, even more Russians will have access to clean electricity," said First Deputy Director General for Nuclear Energy of Rosatom State Corporation, President of JSC ASE (General Designer, Engineering Division of Rosatom State Corporation) Andrey Petrov.
