The structure has a weight of 147 t and a diameter of 34 m.

Russian and Turkish builders completed the installation of the dome in 6 hours with the help of a powerful Liebherr LR 13000 crawler crane. In total, about 30 specialists took part in the works.

The outer containment is formed of reinforced concrete and is designed to survive earthquakes with an intensity of up to 9 points. Therefore, the dome will ensure the reliability and safety of the reactor building. Before the dome was installed, the specialists had assembled the lower part of the outer containment. This large-sized steel structure weighing 340 t with a diameter of 50.8 m will protect the reactor plant against external impact during the entire lifetime of the future nuclear power plant.

The next stage of construction will be the concreting of the metal structure of the outer containment with high-strength concrete mortar. This will allow the builders to start installing the heat removal system equipment.
