The tier was installed in the design position by specialists of one of the divisions of TITAN-2 Holding — Installation and Construction Department No. 90.

The reactor containment structure consists of three mounting units. It represents a part of the outer safety barrier, which will have natural radiation background on its surface. Total weight of the structure — 429 t, height — 17 m. Weight of the third tier with rigging equipment — 164 t. It was installed with the use of a Liebherr LR 11350 heavy-duty crawler crane with a load capacity of 1350 t.

After the third and second tiers of the containment structure are connected, the TITAN-2 workers will start assembling the pipelines of the cooling system, drying system and intermediate shell. Heat-resistant concrete will then be delivered into the cavity of the containment structure.

Evgeny Vlasov, Chief Engineer of JSC MSU-90:
"Thanks to the coordinated work of the MSU-90 staff, we managed to complete these works three months ahead of schedule. We pre-assembled the ring header cooling pipelines not in the reactor cavity, which is a standard procedure after the containment structure is installed, but at the assembly site. That way, we were able to significantly reduce labor costs as well as the use of machinery and mechanisms. and optimize the time required to complete the works."

Sergei Abramov, senIor Site Supervisor of site No. 7 of JSC MSU-90:
"The operation was carried out as expected. Employees of MSU-90 performed the assigned tasks promptly and correctly. This is our third lifting, so there were no difficulties. We also have to assemble the containment structure in the reactor cavity, perform welding and simultaneously continue installing the cooling pipelines.
