The main goal of the event was to familiarize themselves with the project, its management structure, the organization of works and the progress of construction of power units No. 7 and No. 8 of the Leningrad NPP, where JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 is the general contractor.

“We are aware of the full responsibility that lies with us in the construction of a new NPP with Russian VVER-1200 reactor facilities. Considering that there have been no such large-scale construction projects in Hungary for the last 40 years, it is extremely important for us to see with our own eyes how the construction of the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant is proceeding and to adopt the best practices of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 for more efficient implementation of the Hungarian project. We are grateful for the opportunity to immerse ourselves in all the processes of power unit construction, communicate with unique specialists and strengthen our knowledge in this area,” emphasized Laszlo Gabor Kiss, Program Director of Paks II. Ltd.

“A key event is planned at the site at the end of this year – the first concrete at power unit No. 5 of the Paks-2 NPP. JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 is our key contractor performing works on the construction of the “nuclear and turbine islands”, actively participating in the preparatory period and engaged in the installation of industrial site networks. It was important for the Hungarian customer to get acquainted with how the company’s work is structured during the construction of the Leningrad NPP, because the projects are very similar to each other. “First of all, they were interested in the first stage of construction, the excavated pit and construction of the foundation slab,” said Alexander Tupitsyn, Deputy Director of the Paks-2 NPP Construction Project - Director of Construction at JSC Atomstroyexport.

As part of the visit, representatives of the Paks-2 NPP project made a familiarization tour of the Leningrad NPP construction site, paying special attention to the construction and maintenance of the pits of the 7th and 8th units. Then they visited the concrete and mortar facility of JSC UPP, the laboratory of PJSC SUS, the new pipeline shop of TITAN TECHNOLOGY PIPELINE and the laboratory of non-destructive testing methods, construction and installation base No. 1 and the warehouse.

“We are absolutely openly sharing what has already been successfully implemented at the Leningrad NPP site. And we have something to show - in a short period of time we entered the main construction period and completed the concreting of the foundation of the reactor building of power unit No. 7 ahead of schedule. The Paks-2 team has yet to do all this. With us, they were able to see important aspects and key points that will help them during construction: from the arrangement of checkpoints and access roads to the arrangement of pits and water disposal, the organization of planning and assembly of long-term manufacturing equipment, etc. As the host party, we organized a busy three-day program for our Hungarian colleagues. It includes not only a visit to the construction site and production facilities, but also cultural attractions of St. Petersburg, comfortable accommodation,” said Konstantin Khudyakov, Director of the Leningrad NPP Facilities Program at JSC CONCERN TITAN-2”.

“The Hungarian side highly appreciated the efficiency of the works at the construction site and the quality of the organization of workplaces. They also noted the attentive attitude of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 to labor protection and personnel safety, cleanliness and order at industrial sites, compliance with the norms and requirements of the nuclear industry. In general, this trip was a good opportunity for representatives of the Hungarian project to get acquainted with the activities of the TITAN-2 Holding, exchange experience and professional knowledge, which will create a good foundation for future cooperation in the construction of the Paks-2 NPP”, - summed up the results of the visit Stanislav Khoroshikh, Director of the JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 Branch in Hungary.
