Concreting of the last section was carried out at the minus 12-meter mark, using three concrete pumps, a new concrete distributing boom and more than 50 highly qualified specialists from PJSC SUS and JSC CONCERN TITAN-2.

The next stage is concreting the upper part of the reactor building foundation by increasing its thickness by one and a half meters. In preparation for the operation, about 120 tons of reinforcement were laid and formwork was installed. Special pipelines were used for reinforcement, and complex embedded parts were installed. 32 Titan workers took part in the preparatory works.

“We managed to complete concreting ahead of schedule thanks to the high-quality and coordinated work of our company, as the general contractor, and the subcontractor, PJSC SUS. Currently, the total number of personnel at site is 350 people. By the end of the year, we plan to attract 1,300 builders. Along with this, we will also increase the number of mechanisms involved: three new tower cranes and four concrete distributing booms will appear. Strengthening the capacity will help us continue to fulfill the planned high-quality plans and ahead of schedule,” said Konstantin Khudyakov, Director of the Leningrad NPP Facilities Program at JSC CONCERN TITAN-2”.

After the foundation slab is installed, specialists from JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 will begin installing the walls of the building and will reach the main building elevation. The plan is to complete the installation of all foundation slabs of the “nuclear island” of Unit 7 ahead of schedule by the end of 2024.

“We have 65 months to erect the reactor building. Having started the main stage of construction works in March of this year, we already have a time reserve of two and a half months. Given the experience of carrying out similar works at previous power units, as well as taking into account the availability of all necessary materials and equipment, relevant documentation and human resources, we have every chance of finishing this facility earlier. This means that we will also carry out the installation of equipment, its commissioning and testing ahead of schedule, but we will definitely maintain the high quality of all operations,” added Evgeny Milushkin, Deputy Director for Capital Construction – Head of the Capital Construction Department of the Leningrad NPP-2”.
