The EDPC Proryv is being built in Seversk at the site of the Siberian Chemical Plant with the aim of creating a closed fuel cycle technology. JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 is the general contractor for the construction of the energy complex.
As part of the Proryv project, a power unit with a BREST-OD-300 reactor facility with a capacity of 300 MW and two on-site modules (processing and fabrication/refabrication), designed to provide fuel, are being built.
Works are currently in full swing in the reactor building. This year, it is planned to complete the installation of the containment. Works on the pre-assembly of the BREST enclosing structure is ongoing. The installation of the main process equipment of the facility is being carried out by specialists from JSC MSU-90.
Specialists from JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 are completing works in the fabrication and refabrication module. Here, the installation of the main process equipment, engineering and process pipelines, ventilation systems was completed, and finishing works inside the building are nearing completion. Equipment testing and trial runs are nearing completion, auxiliary systems and four process lines for the production of MNUP fuel and assembly of fuel elements are ready.
A test run of the fast neutron reactor fuel production site was successfully completed at the end of March. Completion of all commissioning works and launch of the fabrication module are planned for this year.
Concrete works are ongoing at the construction site. The volume of concreting planned for 2024 is 40,000 m3. At the moment, monolithic structures of the reactor compartment and turbine hall are being erected. Works on auxiliary buildings and structures continue. The main process and auxiliary equipment is being installed.
A total of about 1,500 people are involved in the work - these are specialists from the separate subdivisions “Proryv” and “Sibir” of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2, JSC MSU-90, JSC SEM, and LLC UMIAT.
