The Siberian circular photon source is being implemented under the national project “Science and Universities” to develop Russia's modern network of new generation synchrotron radiation sources.

“At the moment, 33 buildings and structures are being built on the site at the same time. The company's specialists are completing the concreting of foundations of technologically complex buildings and starting their work on vertical structures. Reinforcement and installation of steel structures continues. The amount of concreting work done over recent months is about 40,000 cubic metres. There are over 800 builders working on the site and their number is going to increase,” said Dmitry Volgin, Director of the SUS Branch of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2.

During his visit to the site, Anatoly Seryshev noticed the colossal amount work done since his last visit in May. “The Shared Research Facility SIBERIAN CIRCULAR PHOTON SOURCE (SRF SKIF) is of critical importance for the future of Siberia and Russia as a whole; it will bring scientific research to a new level in various sectors: from microelectronics to research of subcellular structures. For example, it will help create new medications or examine ancient artefacts without damaging them. The construction of the unique scientific facility by TITAN-2 Holding is under the special supervision of the Government and the President of the Russian Federation,” the Plenipotentiary Envoy said.

Anatoly Seryshev thanked the builders for their good, concerted effort. The Plenipotentiary Envoy mentioned the rapid progress of the construction and wished for the work not to slow down so that this important government project is delivered according to schedule. He emphasized that the construction of SRF SKIF will be supervised until the project is fully launched into operation.
