The storage building is the largest facility on the site, with an outer diameter of 240 meters. It is in it that an electron beam will move at the speed of light, which, after entering a magnetic field, will be able to generate synchrotron radiation.

Also, in the storage ring building there are experimental stations where a beam of synchrotron radiation will be delivered for scientific research.

The foundation of the future storage building is divided into 56 segments, which will be filled with concrete one by one. The total volume of the foundation slab is 42.5 thousand cubic meters, the thickness of the base is 12 meters.

Currently, 33 more buildings and structures are being constructed at the same time at the construction site. Specialists continue to reinforce and concrete the foundation slab of the injector building. The construction of the engineering support buildings is nearing completion, and the formation of the thermal circuit has also begun.

In total, 660 builders are involved in the site, including members of student construction teams who first came to the site of the SKIF Core Facilities Center as part of the labor semester.
