The construction workers have recommenced arrangement of the second power unit cooling tower lining after a winter break.
Completion of extensive construction works and proceeding to the next stage, arrangement of inner process equipment of the cooling tower are planned during this year.
90 people are engaged here and at the present moment concrete casting of the 67th level – the elevation of 106 meters – is in progress.
The cooling tower of the Kursk NPP-2 second power unit will be the biggest in Russia – with the height of 179 meters.
Two milestones are scheduled for 2023 for the JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 specialists at the Kursk NPP-2 construction site: completion of concreting of the cooling tower enclosure and works on concreting of the turbine unit upper foundation slab in the turbine building of the second power unit.
Also, the construction workers have started the installation of the process piping systems, designed to perform flushing on the unsealed core of the first power unit, scheduled for October of this year.
