The height of each column is more than 13 metres, and the weight is 20 tonnes.
The builders install four columns per shift. A geodetic survey is performed to check the accuracy of the installation.
In total, Titan specialists will have to install a hundred of columns around the circumference of the cooling tower ring footing. In addition, they have already started assembling the scaffolding of the formwork system for the first tier of the cooling tower shell.
The cooling towers of the first and second power units of the Kursk NPP-2 will be the tallest structures of that type in Russia. Their height will be 179 metres.
