The Championship was derived from an annual competition for the nuclear construction industry professionals, which had been held by the Rosatom State Corporation since 2013. This time, the competition went beyond its sector and attracted companies that deliver major projects in the field of industrial construction.
The event took place in Sirius Science and Arts Park in Sochi. Its participants were competing in nineteen engineering and working nominations. In total, the competition was attended by around five hundred specialists from Russia, Egypt, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Belarus. Beyond the overall score, student construction teams tried their hand in the competition as well.
As a result, the TITAN-2 Holding team took the lead in the multi-team nomination “Best Construction Site” and won several other awards.
First places: team nomination “General Construction Work”, team nomination “Mounting of Process Pipelines”, individual nomination “Electric Welder of Manual Welding” (Roman Maksimenkov), individual nomination “Non-Destructive Testing Methods” (Aleksey Genkel), and team nomination “Electrical Installation”.
Second places: individual nomination “Construction Control” (Aleksandr Lazarenko), team nomination “Occupational Health and Safety”, and team nomination “Electrical Installation”.
The team of the Russian and Turkish Joint Venture TITAN2 IC İÇTAŞ İNŞAAT ANONİM ŞİRKETİ took the third place in the multi-team nomination “Best Construction Site” and several other award-winning places.
Second place: individual nomination “Non-Destructive Testing Methods” (Dmitry Lomakin).
Third places: team nomination “Geodetic Engineer”, team nomination “General Construction Work”, team nomination “Mounting of Process Pipelines”, and individual nomination “Electric Welder of Manual Welding” (Mikhail Kovalev).
Grigory Naginsky, Director General of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2, took part in the Championship business program. Together with Alexey Likhachev, Director of the Rosatom State Corporation, he took a view of the competition site and cheered the TITAN-2 team up.
“From the perspective of TITAN-2 Holding, the World Construction Championship is also a good way to find the best and the most talented specialists who will become the backbone of our company in the future,” Grigory Naginskiy noted.
The total prize fund of the Championship was thirty million roubles. The participants with the best performance were awarded with prizes in the amount from 50 to 300 thousand roubles.
