Recently, Fennovoima, the construction customer, received the basic design documentation for the first stage with descriptions engineering solutions, developed for the Hanhikivi-1 NPP by RAOS Project Oy, which is a part of the Rosatom State Corporation.

In accordance with the requirements of EPC Contract, the submitted package contains the conceptual and functional design of the NPP, the 3D model, and designs of systems and buildings of the NPP.

This documentation provides the basis for a preliminary safety analysis report for the project (PSAR), which shall be reviewed and accepted by the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) so that the license for NPP construction could be granted by the government of Finland.

By now, five sections of PSAR have been already submitted by the customer for STUK's review. It is planned to submit two more sections to the customer by the end of 2020 and to finish working on PSAR in spring 2021.
