Four steam generators for the first power unit were delivered to the Akkuyu NPP construction site in the Republic of Turkey

Meanwhile, it was the first time two cargo vessels arrived at the Cargo Terminal “Vostochnyi” (Eastern) simultaneously. One of them carried rebar (5000 tons), while the other carried the steam generators. Each steam generator weighs 356 tons (355 tons without package). The vessels were being unloaded in parallel.

The steam generators were manufactured at the “Atommash” plant in Russia. They are the part of the basic equipment of reactor plant primary coolant circuit. The generators were carried 3000 km aquatically from the Russian port at the Tsimlyansk reservoir to the Akkuyu NPP construction site.

'The Liebherr LR 1800 mobile caterpillar crane with the lifting capacity of 800 tons with a superlift attachment was deployed for steam generators unloading. The heavy out-of-gauge cargo was unloaded on time and without damages. All the equipment involved in unloading is staying at the jetty until reactor pressure vessel arrival”, said Lenar Ziganshin, Head of Logistics Division.

“The rebar which are bulk cargo were unloaded very rapidly. Within a short time we compared all the item numbers, documented the amount of cargo unloaded to the port and to the car transport from the cargo holds, drew up tally certificates, executed transport documents and compared all the data together with the crew at the end of the shift. All the works were performed just in time, the rebar were accepted according to the transport documents”, stated Darina Kuznetsova, Chief Specialist of Logistics Division.

Also, the reactor pressure vessel was shipped from the “Atommash” plant for the Akkuyu NPP. The reactor pressure vessel is scheduled to be delivered in the second half of October.
