Works are planned to be completed prior to warm season, i.e. within the time period when average temperature is minimum +5◦C.
Currently, employees are concreting the 103rd level of the cooling tower. The most complex level 106, or stiffener ring is ahead. It will take at least one month to complete operations with it. Final height of the structure is 170 m.
Installation of cast-in-place water distribution riser, assembled frame, water catcher and sprinkler will take place inside the cooling tower following crane and formwork dismantling. Assembled frame will consist of 250 columns of 10 meters each. SMU-1 employees are going to assemble each column made of two five-meter parts, carry out hydro-proofing of reinforced concrete structures followed by installation of cooling tower overall interior structure.
Cooling tower painting, cooling tower pond hydro-proofing, backfilling of the soil excavated for intake channel installation are scheduled for the next year.
