This is the main equipment of the reactor plant. The pressurizer weight is 187.4 tons, length is 13.2 meters, and it is more than 3 meters in diameter.
The equipment was installed using an "open top" method, through the open roof of the building. This method facilitates installation, reduces the number of assembly operations, which allows the specialists to promptly begin welding the main coolant pipeline.
Work method statement for installation of the pressurizer was developed by the employees of design and engineering branch of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2. The equipment was installed on its regular place by specialists of JSC MSU-90 and JSC Northern construction department.
With the crawler crane LIEBHERR LR11350 the pressurizer was raised using a special lifting beam and brought to a vertical position, then it was moved in the reactor building special compartment and mounted on a supporting structure.
A standard crane lifting beam was used during the installation. The multi-purpose lifting beam has a variety of configurations designed for installation of reactor equipment, including the reactor pressure vessel. The lifting beam was specially manufactured to be used at the Leningrad NPP power units.
