Erection electricians of the Second Unit of JSC “EM” completed the installation of cable metalwork of the five galleries for personnel and cables, and two cable ducts that connect essential facilities of the NPP under construction.
The structures are intended for laying out power supply cables for different buildings of the NPP, and for passage of the personnel.
The galleries and ducts total length exceeds one thousand meters. Their height is 5-6 meters.
Each of the galleries consists of two parts: one carries the cable, the other is intended for passage of the future NPP personnel. The galleries connect the 10 kV general-plant switchgear with the consumers – administrative and laboratory building, physical protection complex, access control posts, etc.
The bearing metalwork structures of the galleries, as well as the underground cable ducts were built by LLC “EKOSTROI”, the subcontractor of the holding “Titan-2”. Then JSC “SEM” erection electricians started work. All in all for two weeks they mounted approximately one hundred tons of cable metalwork, then they started laying the cable. They also will install communication, warning alarm, lighting, fire alarm lines, lightning protection and grounding.
Besides, the workers of the subcontractor install the cable in the underground channels. The work is carried out through special wells that are interconnected via pipe units and/or reinforced concrete cable trays.
