The specialists of JSC “MSU-90” and OJSC “UAT” installed a piece of large size equipment in the reactor building of Power Unit 1 of the LNPP under construction.
The equipment lock was installed at level +26,000 of reactor building. It is one of the biggest components of the Nuclear Island. Its weigh is over 270 tons. The lock length is 7.6 meters, its diameter is 7.5 m. The equipment was manufactured by “Petrazavodskmash” works (branch of JSC “AEM-Tekhnologii”).
During operation the equipment lock will provide transportation of large size cargoes and nuclear fuel to the reactor building.
The equipment lock was delivered to the place of its installation with the use of special automobile trailer. The heavy-weight equipment was hoisted to the required level in accordance with the special Method Statement with the use of the trestle crane.
Further the equipment lock shall be put on the re-railing tracks and transferred to its standard place – in the opening between the outer and inner containments of reactor.
