External reactor containment. Final straight

Workers of JSC "Metrostroy" have also finished installation of retained formwork of the external containment. Such a type of formwork is used in construction for the first time. This effective design solution has enabled to considerably reduce duration of works and to improve the dome design.

For the whole period of construction, only for the reactor building, the total of more than 110 thousand cubic metres of concrete has been laid and more than 300 thousand tons of reinforcement has been mounted. Laying of the first cubic metre of concrete was carried out on October 25th, 2008.

In honour of completion of a large stage of works, at the level +69,000 of the reactor compartment, a flag of the Russian Federation has been installed. The chairman of the Board of directors of JSC "TITAN--2" , Grigoriy Naginskiy,  has personally congratulated the crew of assemblers of JSC "Metrostroy" and presented them an expensive gift.
