As part of the expedition in the Gulf of Finland, a memorable ceremony was held in honor of the crew of torpedo boat TK-171, which sank in autumn of 1939.

During the expedition, experts examined the hull of boat TK-171, found near Cape Kolkanpaa, and installed a memorial plaque on it with the names of the perished sailors. The project participants honored the memory of the crew who perished on duty in a storm in the Gulf of Finland.

In addition to the memorial ceremony, the expedition members conducted underwater exploration of the vessel, discovered elements of the remote control system – one of the first Soviet unmanned boats – and created a 3D model of the vessel.

“The Sosnovy Bor city pier is today not only an important construction infrastructure facility, used, among other things, in the implementation of the Leningrad NPP project, but also a true attraction for residents and visitors of the town. Just a few years ago, the pier was in a terrible shape, but today it is a well-maintained public space with a promenade and a café. For TITAN-2, it is important to invest not only in construction but also in development of the urban environment, support historical, scientific, and social initiatives,” said Dmitry Sergeyev, supervisor of the town pier, PJSC “NBD”.
