The grand opening took place in the Novosibirsk Academic Town, 15 km from the science city Koltsovo, where the unique project “Siberian Ring Photon Source” (SKIF) Core Facilities Center is being built. The opening was timed to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the construction teams at Rosatom.

The honorary guests of the event presented vouchers to the student construction project "SKIF" and wished a fruitful career to the future builders: Minister of Education of the Novosibirsk Region Sergei Fedorchuk, Chairman of the Board of "Russian Student Teams" Mikhail Kiselev, Director of the SUS Branch of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 Dmitry Volgin, Acting Chairman of the SB RAS , Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vasily Fomin and the head of the project “Development of the movement of student construction teams in the nuclear industry” of the Rosatom Central Construction Center Gennady Gromyatsky.

The construction site of the SKIF Core Facilities Center is hosting construction team members for the first time. In total, 137 students from 11 teams from 9 regions of Russia will work at the site. The labor semester will last until August 26, during which time the guys will perform concrete, reinforcement and auxiliary types of work. Thanks to young trainees, the total number of workers at the site will increase to 1000 people.

As part of the Interregional Student Construction Project “SKIF”, creative, sports and educational events will also be held for its participants. Based on the results of the project, the best team in terms of production indicators and the best team in commissar activities will be determined.

The SKIF Core Facilities Center is a complex of 34 buildings and structures, as well as engineering and technological equipment, which ensures scientific research using synchrotron radiation beams. It is being built as part of the national project “Science and Universities” for the development of a modern network of new generation synchrotron radiation sources in Russia.
