The metal structures of the building roof were installed at the power unit under construction. It is one of the most significant and complex operations, because the installation accuracy reached ten millimetres. Eight roof truss units with a total weight of 1052 tons were installed into the design position. Besides, two bridge cranes with a lifting capacity of 15 and 290 tons were installed in the turbine hall.
Installation of all truss units in the turbine hall of the second power unit was carried out in several stages. First, the units were pre-assembled at a specially equipped site. Then, the quality control and compliance assessment of the performed works were carried out. Subsequently, the JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 specialists commenced installation on the turbine building columns at the height of 41.9 metres.
The largest structure weighted 182 tons, having a length of 60 metres and a width of 14 metres.
Based on the experience of similar works at the first power unit, the builders managed to reduce the time of assembling one truss unit from 30 to 24 days.
The next work stage for the JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 specialists will be reinforcement and concreting of the upper foundation slab of the turbine unit.
