Specialists and their families visited various facilities of the power plant under construction.
Acquaintance with the construction area of power unit No. 2 began with the observation site where information stands describing the NPP-2006 project and the construction progress are located.
Then, the participants of the tour inspected the inner reactor containment assembly site and the evaporative cooling tower under construction. It is planned to complete the construction of this 170‑meter high structure this year.
In addition, the turbine building of the turbine compartment was demonstrated to the personnel of the Northern Building Directorate. At present, the turbine unit assembly is performed here. All the rotors are placed on spin bearings, specialists perform the reconciliation of the line shafting.
The visitors received booklets, children’s books and souvenirs from the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant as a keepsake of their visit to the construction site.
