In early July, the tier was installed on its regular place. Today it is already in the design position, the joint between the third and fourth tiers of the inner containment being welded. The work is carried out with the use of special scaffolding.
After welding the joint, specialists of SMU-1 will continue concreting of the inner containment up to level 37,000.
Currently, the concrete has been laid up to level 33,000.
In addition, there are some works ongoing on reinforcement of the reactor cavity, concreting of the inspection shaft of core barrel and PTU (protective tube unit).
The builders started erecting the walls of the spent fuel pool that will serve for temporary storage of nuclear fuel.
Installation of scaffolding under the ceiling of 26th level of the reactor building is going on, as well as reinforcement of the inner containment.
