This system is intended for cooling turbine condensers of Power Unit 1 of the Leningrad NPP under construction.
The plant will have a closed water circulation cycle. The system will be operating as follows: a cooling tower and an intake chamber (storage of water) of pumping station are filled with water, then a circulation pump switches on.
After passing through the turbine condenser water shall be fed back to the cooling tower in order to be cooled, and then it shall re-enter the intake chamber.
The pumps are placed in the pumping station of the turbine consumers at level of 6,000. The main function of this facility is to provide the system with water. Cooling towers are connected to the pumping station with the use of inlet channels. Through the channels water from the cooling towers enters the pumping station and then via the supply lines it is delivered to the turbine.
All equipment of the pumping station was installed by specialists of the JSC "MSU-90", channels were constructed by the staff of the PJSC "SUS".
Necessary tests were monitored by representatives of the JSC "CONCERN TITAN-2".
The main objective of the test run was to verify operation of the completely assembled circulation pump set. At the same time a post-assembly flushing of circulating water lines and check of the system leak tightness were performed.
Note:
The Holding “Titan-2” is the largest in the North-West group of companies, erecting the most important objects of the nuclear industry and energy. The organization performs a full range of construction and installation works from engineering to commissioning.
The Holding “Titan-2” is one of the main contractors for the construction of power units No. 1 and No. 2 of the Leningradskaya NPP-2. Main organizations of the company perform 30% of general construction and 80% of installation works on the site. Specialists of the holding are engaged on the objects of the Leningradskaya NPP-2 first and second power units. The works are being performed in the buildings of the reactor, turbine, electricity, water, heating system and other structures of power units.
