This operation was fulfilled by the specialists of SMU-1 and UMiAT of the Northern Construction Department. Two hoisting cranes Grove were used for assembly works and test loading.
The metalwork manufactured by JSC MSU-90 weighs 10.990 tons. To check the spread beam under workload a weight of 250 tons was attached to it. By means of crane Liebherr 11 350 it was lifted to a height of 100 mm in order to be under workload during the time specified by the regulatory documents. The actual load during installation of the 4-th tier of inner containment will be 200 tons.
At present PJSC SUS specialists are making preparations for installation of this huge metalwork. At the moment the metalwork is on a special site where it has been preassembled near the Power Unit 2 reactor building of the LNPP under construction. All welded joints were tested for defects using ultrasonic method with subsequent inspection for leaks, and accepted by a commission consisting of specialists of the Customer, General Contractor, representatives of JSC "ATOMPROEKT" and Subcontractor.
