Employees of the third unit installed emergency feed water pumps at the facility.  The pumps are intended to provide steam generators with water during anticipated operational occurrences of the power unit and in the case of design basis accidents.

The system of emergency feed water consists of four identical channels independent from each other, which consist of emergency feedwater pumps, valves and pipelines connected to the makeup water system tanks. The capacity of each tank is 700 cubic meters. To date,  two electric motors has already been tested at no load. They will subsequently be joined to the pump portion, and will undergo final testing.

The second unit of JSC "MSU-90”  currently carry on installation of pipelines and isolation valves of the emergency feedwater system.  The work is supervised by the supervision engineer of PJSC "Sumskoye NPO" and experts of the Leningrad NPP.

Putting the system into operation will allow to begin preparations for the reactor first criticality.
