The operation was carried out with the use of two cranes of the mechanization department of OJSC "SUS". Equipment weighing 32 tons was lifted to a height of three meters, put in a horizontal position and then mounted on a special support.
The complexity of the operation was to ensure the coordinated work of two cranes. The distance between slings of lifting devices was less than one meter.
The work method statement was developed by the design and engineering branch of JSC "CONCERN TITAN-2". The pump casing was overturned by the specialists of the first unit of JSC "MSU-90".
The housing of the main circulation pump is overturned to join it to the stand and bioshield ring. After that the equipment will be ready to be installed on its regular place in the reactor building at elevation +14,000.
At present the two housings of MCP have been fully assembled. It is planned to complete pre-assembly of all four pieces of equipment until the end of January.
Main circulation pump sets are designed to provide circulation of coolant in the primary circuit of the reactor plant.
