Specialists of the Second Unit of JSC «MSU-90» are completing equipment installation in the switch chamber at the construction site of the new power units of the Leningrad nuclear power plant.
The facility is part of a water supply system intended for cooling of the nuclear island systems of the first power unit. It consists of spray cooling ponds, underground tunnels, two switch chambers and two pump stations. The Second Unit of JSC «MSU-90» installed the equipment for this facilities.
Pipelines for the system belong to the third safety class. They were manufactured at the manufacturing unit of the company. The pipe diameters vary from 325 to 1020 mm. Each weld seam undergoes thorough inspection.
Work in the second switch chamber is 90% done. All equipment is located at level -5,700. Currently the hanger-support system is being installed there. Soon installation of pumping equipment will begin in the switch chamber.
