Specialists of SMU-1 of “Northern Management for Construction” poured 180 m3 of concrete at the inner containment of the reactor building for the second Power Unit of the LNPP under construction.
The inner containment is the localizing safety system component. It provides tightness inside the reactor building in all operation conditions of the nuclear power plant, including the emergency modes. The inner containment starts from level -1,250 and ends at level +68,500. Next year According to the schedule, the containment is to be covered with a dome.
Sixty experienced specialists from SMU-1 took part in the pouring operation. The work was executed continuously, on a shift basis.
The concrete used for the inner containment is high performance concrete, grade “B60”. The concrete was supplied to the desired level with the use of four concrete booms and four concrete pumps. The length of concrete conveying pipes is up to 150 meters.
The execution of the operation will enable further concrete pouring of the reactor building facilities.
