The work is performed by specialists of the Third Unit of JSC MSU-90. They are experienced installers who successfully completed installation of a turbine of the yet-to-be constructed LNPP Power Unit 1, which is now being prepared for commissioning.
All the components of the turbine were made in the St. Petersburg Company "Power Machines".
The turbine set is a five-cylinder (four low-pressure cylinders, one high pressure cylinder), double flow
machine with an electric power capacity of 1200 MW and speed of 3000 rpm. The total weight of the
steam turbine is over 2 500 tons.
To date, about 700 tons of the turbine body parts have been delivered to the site. Depreservation and inspection of bearings No. 1-6, depreservation of the steam space of the low-pressure cylinders No. 2 and 3, as well as fitting in (scraping in) of foundation frames to the housings of bearings and to low-pressure cylinders No. 1 and 2 are carried out.
Previously, the specialists had installed all the supporting base slabs with a total weight of 15.9 tons. In addition, foundation frames were treated (scraped) both on the side of the permanent pads under the turbine set and on the side adjacent to low-pressure cylinders No. 2 and 3.
In the near future specialists of JSC MSU-90 will start the erection of the casings of low-pressure cylinders No. 2 and 3. An overhead crane with a lifting capacity of 220 tons will be used for the lifting operation.
